Downtown Courthouse Temporarily Closes – Court Services Relocated to Mykawa

September 1, 2016 -- The Herbert W. Gee Municipal Courthouse, located at 1400 Lubbock will be temporarily closed beginning at 11:00PM, Friday, September 2, 2016 thru 7:00AM, Monday, September 5, 2016 to allow for scheduled electrical repairs. The Municipal Court Annex located at 8300 Mykawa, will be open for those wishing to post jail bonds or request other court services.

“When we were notified of the need for these repairs, we specifically chose the holiday weekend so as not to disrupt too many services provided to court customers,” stated Barbara E. Hartle, Director and Presiding Judge of the Municipal Courts Department.

The Municipal Courts Department offers several online options that are available as a means to resolve court matters. Interested persons may visit www.houstontx.gov/courts/forms.html to download the forms needed to request a trial setting, request the Driving Safety Course (DSC) by mail, or to submit proof of compliance by mail. Payments for fines are accepted online at www.houstontx.gov/courts/ticket_payments.html. Payments are also accepted by:

  • Western Union (code: Ticket Texas); or
  • US Mail (P.O. Box 4996, Houston, Texas 77210-4996).

The Gee Courthouse will resume normal hours of operation on Tuesday, September 6, 2016.
