Be a Friend of the Fountain
Your help is needed to restore an iconic City landmark, the Mecom Fountain. The fountain was built in 1964 and sits at the intersection of Main and Montrose serving as the gateway to Hermann Park and to the Texas Medical Center. Work is being done to restore the fountain and preserve this great cultural and historical Houston landmark.
$60,000 is needed to complete the restoration. More than 200 Houstonians have already contributed and we are 65% to our goal. Add your name to the list of contributors and secure your invitation to the ribbon-cutting that will celebrate the fountain's restoration. Please consider donating at www.FriendsoftheFountain.org before March 31. For more information, please contact Preservation Houston at 713.510.3990 or the City's Historic Preservation Office at 832.393.6556. Thank you for your support of Houston's history.
