THE CITY OF HOUSTON’S ANNUAL “HOUSTON SALUTES AMERICAN HEROES” VETERANS DAY CELEBRATION
Houston Shows Support with Ceremony, Parade, AT&T Veterans Job Fair and Walgreens Veterans Health Fair.
Mayor Annise D. Parker and the City of Houston will show support for our Armed Forces and celebrate the annual “Houston Salutes American Heroes” Veterans Day Celebration.
Festivities will begin at 10 a.m. with the third annual AT&T Veterans Job Fair and the second annual Walgreens Veterans Health Fair. A moment of silence will be observed at 11 a.m., followed by the 11th hour ceremony in memory of the WWI signing of the Armistice.
- 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. AT&T Veterans Job Fair
- 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Walgreens Veterans Health Fair
- 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. Ceremony (The moment of silence will kick off the ceremony)
- 12:30 p.m. American Heroes Parade
FREE Parking, 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., Theater District Parking, Tranquillity Garage, entrances #2 & #5 only.
The Veterans Day Parade Route 2012
Parade of Heroes begins on Lamar @ Bagby, goes north on Smith, east on Walker, south on Louisiana, and ends on Dallas.
AT&T Veterans Job Fair 2012
Walgreens Veterans Health Fair 2012
Walgreens will provide flu shots and on-site health screenings including: blood glucose testing, bone density, blood pressure readings, cholesterol checks, waist circumference, and Body Mass Index exams.
